RISDT has been working for the well-being of the most marginalized and neglected sections of the Indian society
RISDT was started in the year 1983 with an aim to serve the poorest and neglected in the field of leprosy.
Our Interventions
Health
The provision of medical attention can be life-changing for a person affected by a disease. In a rural context, few things are more important than one's health and ability to earn livelihood. Driven by the concern, the RISDT has been catering to the health needs of the region focusing on Leprosy, Tuberculosis (TB), and HIV/AIDS.
Education
Referral English Medium High School, was founded in 2003 by Rural India Self Development Trust (RISDT) and managed by Matina Educational Society. The school's existence is attributed to FAIRMED and its long-term vision of serving and meeting medical and educational needs of people under RISDT project area.
Rural Development
RISDT selected Srikakulam district to attain rural development by implementation, practicing, and extension of sustainable practices in Land Development, Irrigation Management in Agriculture & Horticulture, Dairying and Goat Rearing to local communities and Livelihoods.
Our Achievements
Since 1983 we have delivered treatment to 90,149 patients in East Godavari district of Andhara Pradesh State
Since 1983, RISDT has been working for the well-being of the most marginalized and neglected sections of the Indian society – Persons affected by Leprosy (PAL). In the last 30 years, the Trust has been an implementing partner of the National Leprosy Eradication Program (NLEP) in the MDT.
